The change seems to signify Starbucks going back to its roots of focusing more on coffee versus some of the lines it has diversified into such as music, games, and food. The change appears to come at the heels of fast food places such as McDonald’s who are beginning to sell high priced coffee drinks.
The realignment will surely hit the company’s bottom line, but the financial ramifications are yet to be told. It is difficult to tell what the future will be in any situation because in many cases, the future may never come. In business, it is also difficult to set visions because at times, visions limit, rather than allow flexibility.
