
In order to make sure communications are appropriate to employees on evaluations, human resources and upper management might review the evaluations by managers before they are communicated to
employees.
It may be negligence if a company has a practice for doing something like performance appraisals, and then not do them.
Take for instance, writing up someone for not following a grooming policy. Religious accommodation may be an exception to a grooming policy. A company may implement a procedure that is consistent with everyone on the subject by requiring everyone to stick to a grooming policy unless there is a letter from a religious leader that the person is not able to comply.
