
The guidelines seem to address some of the concerns in the press relating to FaceBook, and use of user information for more tailored advertising and marketing of goods and services.
In the guidelines are statements on notice, choice and data security. The guidelines will be submitted to the Federal Trade Commission. Notice involves companies that gather and store information for interactive advertising purposes to explain practices of the information collected for interactive advertising, the technologies used to collect information, and how information is used. Security protections are based on the sensitivity of the data.
