On November 1, 2007, Stanford University held an event with JoAnne Akalaitis and Nicholas Rudall. The event was at the Cubberley Auditorium. For those who have never been to the Cubberly Auditorium, it is a hidden gem near Serra Mall. The visitor cannot tell from the outside that it is an auditorium and may mistaken it for classrooms. Around the area are several buildings with classrooms numbering from 1 to 400s. Though, the presenters were prepared for the event and were on site at least an hour before waiting and setting up.
Following the event was a reception at the Hume Writing Center, which was located another building at the side of the street.
For attorneys who like to write and enjoy the arts, the event was a chance to hear dialogue on how writer/translators, directors, and other artists collaborate on theatrical performances. JoAnne Akalaitis and Nicholas Rudall were from The Public Theater residency.
