Those people trying to look up broker information on the NASD web site may know of the restoration project in 1997.  In 1997 there was a meeting between the NASD and NASAA (states) to clean up firm and representative records. 

Any customer complaints or criminal charges where the NASD did not have documentation proving a misdemeanor had to be reviewed again.  The NASD found out what some people did were misdemeanors.  Some firms did not rescind any trades by these representatives.  They obtained any commissions for the business done, and processed the pending trades.

People who had questions about the representatives telephoned the NASD and understood the problems related to mechanics with the NASD.
