Immigrant Legal Resource Center is a non-profit immigration advocacy organization in San Francisco.  There is an attorney of the day program where attorneys answer questions from other immigration law practitioners. 

The United States has many undocumented people.  If children are not born here, they are undocumented too.  Children can go through high school and find that they cannot find work because they are undocumented.  They can be exploited.  They do not to be terminated when they do find work for being undocumented.  They would unlikely assert worker rights such as poor work conditions. 

There has been legislation to give people a pass to permanent residency.  The legislation has been defeated in Congress and the courts have not wanted to be involved in immigration because it involves politics between countries and foreign policies.
