In September, both Jewish and Muslim communities celebrate the beginning of two important holidays, Rosh Hashanah and Ramadan. On these holidays, it seems that the two groups practice many of the same rituals, such as fasting. Sometimes it is a wonder why these groups do not seem to get along even though their faiths seem to stem from the same teachings.
Observers of these holidays usually request time off from work. Usually employees are allowed to use their vacation days for such practice, but how do religious and cultural holidays affect business productivity? These holidays may bring up issues on workplace diversity and respecting the religious beliefs of employees of various faiths.
