For the attorney looking to experience the simple life, visiting a farm in Tai An, China may be the place to go.

With China accepted to the WTO, most legal professionals may think the work is in the big cities, but much of the China population still lives a farm life. 

Tai An, China is near Tai Shan, China.  It has farming during the summer months consisting mostly of corn, cotton.  During the winter months, the locals work in the city, or try to sell crafts, art at flea markets.  In a visit to the village in September, the visitor will see that there is corn all over the streets.  Much of the corn is used by animals, not people.

The locals like to welcome foreigners to their families.  In a home stay, a visitor will be sure to be served 3 meals, complete with beer and cigarettes.  Meals usually last at least 2 hours, with around 10 plates of food.  English is taught in the schools, but many of the elderly may only speak Mandarin.  The school teacher lives on top of the school house, and gets invited to the homes of locals for hot meals. 

Though there is plumbing in the area, those looking for a shower, may need to go inside a cave, and be sure to shower before dark.  Sometimes there is a walk from the shower to a house, and during the walk, a person may be followed by a barking dog.
