In journalism and news reporting, there is a need for fact checking. Did Carlson do enough of this research as it relates to the subject and to the industry she wrote on? There are legal ramifications for not accurately reporting based on facts, but what if the column is opinion based such as criticisms on someone? Should people be blasted for their opinions or can the reporter argue free speech?
Did the head coach do the right thing with the comeback from the negative press? It seems that the situation happens in everyday life even in someone’s work place with employees criticizes another. Is it just one person being rude or what obligation would the employer have to the employees?
