The attorney may learn from the waitperson in having passion when completing work. Though people may think that being a waitperson does not involve much thinking, there is much to the process of serving food and people who follow the process show that they are passionate about their job in order to do it properly.
For instance, before the dessert, the waitperson picks up the salt and pepper and clears the entire table. The waitperson keeps ashtrays clean, with only one cigarette per ashtray.
With guests who drink, glasses are always filled, even wine glasses. To take care, glasses are not lifted for refills unless they are far away. There are health reasons for this. The less a person handles plates and glasses, the better.
The waitperson replaces needed silver, making sure when he/she serves entrees, there is proper silverware if the silver is taken away during the salad or appetizers.
When there is nothing to do while people are eating, the waitperson continues to work by straightening chairs, folding napkins for guests who leave the table. However, the waitperson does not impose too much service. If someone is serving bread, another waitperson waits to serve the wine.
