For the attorney who needs to entertain guests, knowing about wine may prove to be handy even if the person does not drink.

Notice at restaurants, white wine goes in a bucket to be chilled, not red wine.  Red wine is left on the table.

Examples of red wines are Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Zinfandel (red and white), Merlot, Burgundy.  Merlot and Cabernet are usual red wines served by the glass versus the bottle.  Santa Cruz Mt. Merlot, Hawk Crest may be popular picks.  Be careful not to order wine that is inexpensive and used for cooking such as James Arthur Field.

For celebrations, order champagne, which may be by the glass in most restaurants.
