The Career Architect Lominger Limited, Inc. has an article on career stallers and stoppers.
One staller is the inability to adapt to differences. This means a person who is not able to adapt to a different boss, strategy, plan. When this is not a problem, the person is comfortable with change, and can handle conflicts. Another staller is poor administration. This is a problem when a person has low detail orientation. This is not a problem when a person is focused and reliable in terms of work in progress.
A career stopper is to be overly ambitious. This person focuses on the self versus concentrating on performing well and letting results do the marketing. Another stopper is a person closed to learning new personal skills. This is not a problem when someone takes criticisms to heart and improves. It is also a problem when someone lacks composure. This person gets emotional, is subjective. This relates to being defensive such as someone who denies faults. This may lead to a lack of ethics and pushes the limits on tolerances.
