It was announced August 13, 2007 that Alan Greenspan has been hired to advise Deutsche Bank, one of Germany’s largest international banks. How will this affect the international economy since whenever Alan Greenspan used to say anything while he worked for the Federal Reserve, something always seemed to change in the economy?  Perhaps it will not affect the international economy at all since the buzz these days seem to be in Asia, with more toys manufactured in China, and Vietnam gaining membership to the WTO, instead of Europe.

For attorneys working on international deals, how will this affect sales agreements abroad?  Will international customers become more powerful asking to negotiate more terms, or will the US be in less of a bargaining position with international laws being the standard while doing business at international markets?  Will Alan Greenspan’s hiring help stabilize stock markets, or will the market stay down as it has been for the past few weeks?  Has the market downturn been a result of mostly domestic economics and will not be affected by Alan Greenspan advising an international bank?

How long will Alan Greenspan be able to keep the job, since he is already 81 years old?
