On April 28, 2007, the Aurora Forum held an event at Stanford University on Title IX. The Aurora Forum is a series of free lectures open to the public on leaders in fields that are geared towards social change.

The lectures provide for conversations on controversial issues in order bring better understanding of democratic ideas.

The featured speaker on April 28, 2007 was Billie Jean King.  King was interviewed by LaDoris Cordell, the Title IX Compliance Officer and Special Counselor to the President at Stanford University.  Cordell attended Stanford Law School and began the presentation with how she was similar to King in the 1970s.  She brought photos of how they both had Afros at the time.  King said that she wore an Afro in order promote the beauty of being black, and recounted a time when she danced with Arthur Ashe.
