DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary in Palo Alto, CA was the venue for the April 2007 Tech Meetup where the following companies gave demonstrations of their products and services: Diigo, Wrike, Linksviewer, Podaddies.
The event began with pizza, wine, beer, soda. A partner at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary spoke about the law firm’s venture pipeline program.
Wrike is a project management web 2.0 product. Andrew Filev presented how it could be used to help people get things done. For the attorney looking for a simple alternative to a system that charges, such as Microsoft Project Management, Wrike may be the product to try out. Wrike is a hosted solution. It rolled out in December 2006. The front end is built on AJAX technology. It allows people to share tools with groups. Each member of a group gets notification when there are changes made to the shared email address. Every task for a project may include different groups. The program does not calculate vertical files so it is not as complex as a program from Microsoft. It is meant to be a simple program for people with diverse projects, and need a vision of all the items that is going on in the person’s life.
