The movie “Little Children” illustrated how untrusting people’s words were, and how in the end, everyone only served their own selfish needs.
Brad, also known as the Prom king, was a law school graduate, who had flunked the bar exam twice. Though on the outside, he looked to have a successful marriage, packing a car to go to the beach with his “knock out” wife on a weekend, in actuality he was having an affair with Sarah. After an evening football game, Brad and Sarah decide to run away together so that they can be a couple to the world, and no longer sneak around.
While waiting for the Prom king at a park, Sarah lost sight of her daughter Lucy when she sought to help the neighborhood streaker who castrated himself on a swing.
After finding the daughter, Sarah decided to drive home, not knowing that Brad was delayed because he tried to jump a flight of stairs on a skateboard. The movie demonstrated how meaningless affection and words were sometimes. Though Brad and Sarah kissed, slept together, spent time opening up on their personal stories, they really did not care about each other. Sarah left the park without a call to Brad on her change of plans. Brad left Sarah waiting at the park by engaging in skateboard action to relive some of his youth. When being driven away by an ambulance, Brad asked someone to contact his wife, never notifying Sarah.
