Stress Free for Good by Dr. Fred Luskin of
First, the book gives an overview of why stress occurs. Usually stress occurs because people focus on the negatives in life rather than appreciating the good. For instance, the book discusses a patient who is able to improve his well being by focusing on being thankful to have a job to provide for his family, rather than focusing on a difficult boss.
The book teaches breathing and relaxation exercises, and preaches that the reader needs to practice the techniques rather than just read about them. Many of the other LifeSkills are actually common sense techniques such as visualizing success, slowing down, appreciating the self, and smiling.
