Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and made famous by the Scott Peterson trial, might be an interesting read for the attorney who wants to learn new ways to manage the mind by monitoring media intake. 

The book discusses methods to protect the self from images forced by peers, parents, co-workers, and culture by learning from the poor.  Warren writes that the way to lasting change is changing the way one thinks.  Be careful how to think; life is shaped by thoughts. 

For instance, desires such as making more money or moving up in title, may cause someone to act hastily or in a wrong way.  The book urges people to get rid of masks of the truth.
