What will be the top events in law for 2007? Thus far, seems like there is still controversy in the stock options front. Though Apple, Inc. (Apple) finally filed its Form 10-K and the press has reported on Steve Jobs’ involvement, investigations are still ongoing, with a story in the SF Chronicle during the January 13-14, 2007 weekend on the desire to interview two of Apple’s former attorneys.
Other top stories may involve the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Seems like many major law firms are offering MCLE training on the FCPA so there must be some need to prepare for violations.
Then there are emerging issues relating to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC)’s new executive compensation disclosure rules.
