When entering the court to make a court appearance, the attorney will give the appearance slip to the court and resolve any problems. The attorney makes the appearance by waiting for the judge to call the case.
When the case is called, the attorney gives the file to the court. The attorney should address the court by stating “Good morning/afternoon your honor, this is Name, appearing for Client.” The attorney should ask for a continuance if there are any problems with the case. If there are no problems, there is likely a pre-grant. The judge announces the pre-grants and entertains any objections.
In a probate case, the court may mention the referee. the referee is the person who appraises real property. The attorney fees are based on the appraisal of the property.
After appearing in court, the attorney may need to make some filings. The attorney should get receipts for any fees paid.
