On January 21, 2007, Jeff Louie gave a talk in San Francisco, CA on how one must have faith in dreams though an individual may never be able to see the end results.  The talk may prove insightful to the attorney who advocates societal changes.

Louie began the talk with the connection between compassion and society.  Then, he moved to discussing dreams, and how sometimes goals may not be fulfilled even though people committed to fulfilling them.  He said that these types of results should not keep people away from attempting the goals.  People should not shy away from dreams even though there were things that made them feel uncomfortable. 

Louie gave several stories to illustrate his points on inconvenience.  Sometimes people feel shortchanged when they think they were promised more return on their sacrifices.  In these cases when people do not feel returns equal to their investments, they need to think outside of themselves and see how the greater society will be served.  If they have faith, they do not need to see their dreams fulfilled with their own eyes for they will be convinced that fulfillment will come.  There is a program beyond themselves, and the world will take over fulfilling the dream after the individual’s life.
