It was a surprise to read an article on the New York Salsa Congress 2006 written by Dakin Ferris posted on Salsacrazy.com.  First surprise was how one attorney catches up with another with Ferris meeting Evan Margolin.  Another surprise was why someone would move from San Francisco to Oakland.  Next surprise was seeing videos of someone past his twenties seeming to have so much fun at dance clubs.

Ferris, a former attorney in high tech as detailed in his LinkedIn profile, now a freelance writer and dancer, wrote like a hip party type, far from the legal lingo of the in house attorney who used to teach people how to negotiate contracts.  He seemed like he really knew what he was talking about on the on1 and on2.

At the end of the piece, Ferris’ email directed people to his web site, D-Mambo Productions, where he had photos and videos of his new (rental) house in Oakland, his dance parties, and salsa friends.  Ferris was an example of how work did not always need to be done at an office.
