The following is not meant to be legal advice.
For the attorney who might need to make court filings, he/she should be aware that some hearings require newspaper notifications. For example, for the petition of administrator, the attorney may need to do a publication of a hearing after he/she files the petition in a legal newspaper for several consecutive days.

The attorney should take care to proofread documents for typos, missing dates before going to the courthouse.
The attorney should do a proof of service for everything that is filed with a court. The proof of service needs a case caption, and cannot be filed by itself.
The attorney can learn about different codes by reading the codes referred to in Judicial Council forms.
