The following is not meant to be legal advice.
For the attorney who might need to make court filings, he/she should be aware of how many copies he/she needs to take with him. Usually the court keeps the originals. Sometimes, the attorney may need to take copies to other departments. For example, in a conservatorship case, the attorney may need to file the original with the courthouse, and then go to the probate room, and file a copy there.

Before filing papers at the courthouse, the attorney needs to serve the people on the mailing list. When notifying parties of a hearing, the attorney would need to go to court to get the date of the hearing, serve the papers, and then bring the served papers to the courthouse to file.
When going to the courthouse, the attorney should bring a copy of everything he/she will file so that he/she always has a copy of what will be filed.
