The California Fair Employment and Housing Commission (FEHC) on November 14, 2006 adopted final proposed regulations interpreting AB 1825. AB 1825 is California's harassment training law.
The FEHC will present a regulatory package to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) for its review of the regulations. Once the OAL approves the regulations, it will deliver them to the Secretary of State and the regulations will become effective 30 days thereafter.

The FEHC estimates that its sexual harassment training regulations, if approved by the OAL, will become effective around February 1, 2007. The OAL has 30 days to review and approve the regulations or disapprove them and require further changes.
The proposed regulations provide that an employer who has made a substantial, good faith effort to comply with the law by completing training of its supervisors before the effective date of the regulations will be deemed to be in compliance with the law as if the training had been conducted in accordance with the requirements of the final regulations.
