The counseling offers free newsletters. The mission of the Life's Work Center is to acknowledge that the world has problems that seem overwhelming. People are often afraid of the future. Change does not come from political leadership but from people changing their lives, which leads to change in their future. Life's meaning comes from doing what no one else can do the same, not money. Money only provides comfort and security.

The counseling applies the flower diagrams discussed in Dick Bolles' What Color Is Your Parachute. The flower petals may include lists on place, things, people, tasks, outcomes, ideas, philosophy. Tom Finnegan's philosophy was to have a lifetime of right living. He writes that if he hurts others, he hurts himself. He writes to relinquish the ego.

Life's work is about being realistic, picking tasks that may be completed today. It is about being honest and taking risks. Embrace small pain so that long term pain does not end in greater pain.
