Attorneys who use the Mac might be interested in istumbler, a series of wireless discovery tools, and software for the Mac, that allows the attorney to check for networks, which is especially helpful when there are intermittent connection issues.
The company is currently operating its products under a freeware model. Prior to its freeware model with nagging technology, it had a donation model that allowed people to subscribe to its tools. istumbler is an example of the BSD open source license. The BSD license is similar to the MIT license.
AirPort plugin is a suite of tools for looking at different types of networks, and keeps track of security (whether or not managed).
Bluetooth plugin talks to mice and keyboards.
Bonjour plugin browses services such as printers, and allows computers with ad hoc networks work together.
The future direction of the company is to build a location plugin, geospatial to determine someone's location.
