Healthcare Blogging Summit

Attorneys working in house in the healthcare industry might consider attending the Healthcare Blogging Summit. The event is for professionals in hospitals, health plans, physician organizations, pharmas and medical device companies.

It is the First-Ever Conference on Healthcare Blogging. It is on December 11, 2006, 12:00pm - 5:00pm, at Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.

Among the 15+ speakers and panelists:

(1) Jay M. Bernhardt, PhD, MPH: Director, National Center for Health Marketing, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was the first federal health official to start a blog.

(2) Robert L. Coffield, JD: Member, Flaherty, Sensabaugh & Bonasso, PLLC. He was the first healthcare law blogger.

(3) F. Nicholas Jacobs, FACHE: CEO, Windber Medical Center & Research Institute. He was the first hospital CEO to start a blog.
The session will include topics on: results of the first Healthcare Blogger Research Survey, discussing the HealthTrain, the Open Healthcare Manifesto, sessions on (a) the blogging revolution, Why Healthcare Will Be Transformed and How Other Industries Show the Way, (b) Understanding Size, Influence and Rules of the Healthcare Blogosphere, (c) Discussing the Value of the New Media with Blogging Healthcare Leaders, (d) Mapping Out Your Game Plan: The Nuts-and-Bolts of Getting Started.
