
For the attorney who is job searching, there are resources in the community to help an individual help him/herself. Many are at no charge and others at a very nominal fee.
Toastmasters: There are clubs everywhere that meet for during, dinner, breakfast, or lunch. Find one in any area that has people one is able to like. Toastmasters has one of the best public speaking training programs, and it is very inexpensive.
SCORE: This is the Service Corps of Retired Executives. The group is FREE. The main office is in San Jose, CA, but they have branch offices in Cupertino, CA and elsewhere. They will help anyone interested in starting or growing their own business.

Career Action Centers: They are found on the campuses of junior colleges and colleges. They are in the libraries of each of the schools and there is a ton of available information for free.
SVED: This is Silicon Valley Economic Development. They lend money to startups (small business - not big angels).
SBA: Small Business Administration. Individuals are able to can access their loan service through SCORE.
Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Temples: These places offer counseling if someone is feeling tired, down, discouraged, depressed or if a family is having difficulties accepting "out of work" status. Many of these counseling centers are for free.
