The Illusionist staring Edward Norton and Jessica Biel combines romance, magic, and politics. The magician Eisenheim reunites with a childhood love, Sophie, and soon to be wife of a prince. Eisenheim convinces Sophie to leave the prince. Sophie gets into an argument with the prince. Her body is found in water and she is thought to be dead. The prince convinces an inspector to expose Eisenheim’s magic. Eisenheim’s performances lead people to think that they can hear from the dead. One such person is Sophie in who appears on stage to name her killer. No one knows who is really alive or dead until the end when Eisenheim creates the ultimate illusion.

The story on magic gives the impression that something impossible may be achieved. Illusions occur as if the performer has magical powers. Yet, the illusions are in actuality created by natural means. One can see this concept play out in everyday life in the start up of new companies and rise of those in business.
