The EEOC announced in March 6, 2006 plans to dedicate time to enforcing disparate impact claims under Title VII, especially those alleging race discrimination.
The EEOC developed a task force to examine systemic discrimination in the workplace.
In April 5, 2006, the EEOC reported that it was changing its priorities to systemic cases rather than individual claims. Systemic cases include pattern or practice, policy and/or class cases where the alleged discrimination had a broad industry impact, or impact on a profession, geography, or company.
In April 2006, the Department of Labor offered examples on its website on benefit plans' summary plan descriptions.
In June 2006, the OFCCP released interpretive standards for systemic compensation discrimination under Executive Order 11246 and voluntary guidelines for self evaluation of compensation practices for compliance with Executive Order 11246.
