On July 23, 2006, Swami Sitaramananda, Director of the Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA, gave a talk in San Francisco, CA on strength that comes from inside.
Strength comes not from muscles or money. The fight is not with someone or something on the outside, but with the inside, with one's mind and thoughts.
How someone obtains confidence is through exchanging negative thoughts for positive.
When reviewing one's life, there will always be something missing - always the inability to succeed in relationships, in finding the right job, in making ends meet. When faced with this constant failure, perhaps just accept it as a fact.
One changes destiny not by expecting any particular result through efforts, but by taking the actions themselves. What is important is the progress, not reaching the goal.
If something is always a problem, accept it as truth. It cannot be fixed with consciousness. Anything that changes is not truth.
Destiny changes when one is aware of truth. In order to find truth, one needs to turn selfishness to selflessness, unawareness to awareness, ego to humility. Think less about being right. When one thinks he/she is right, the mind generates a certain pattern of thoughts. These thoughts may be wrong. The goal that is unachievable constantly signifies something missing. Even after achieving something, there will still be another item missing. The goal limits possibilities and prevents change. Without the goal, one is better able to align to unexpected opportunities that arise.
