France
Some software companies deposit source code with the national library for priority reasons to show that they are the first to copyright the code. However, registration is not required for copyright protection or enforcement in France. Authors may bring infringement claims without registering copyrights. The term of copyright protection is the life of the author plus 70 years.
Germany
Registration is not available or required for copyright protection or enforcement in Germany. The term of copyright protection is the life of the author plus 70 years.
Italy
Registration is not required for copyright protection or enforcement in Italy. Software copyrights may be registered, but failure to do so does not preclude authors from bringing infringement claims or enforcing their copyrights.
United Kingdom
