When a company enters AIM, it has new capital to make acquisitions and other growth investments. There are also shares to provide employee incentives. Businesses in the AIM market include those in natural resources, technology, and real estate sectors. Recent examples include Spacelabs Healthcare, Inc., a 15m pounds placing that resulted from the spin out of a set of NASDAQ businesses; Air Music & Media Group Plc, a reverse takeover of the holding company of Music Box Leisure Limited; and Shore Capital, a 13.5m pounds placing and open offer for Minorplanet Systems plc.
