To meet entrepreneurs and interface with management of start up companies, consider getting involved with The Enterprise Network (TEN). Founded in 1993, TEN is a Silicon Valley 501(c)(3) public benefit organization that helps entrepreneurs launch emerging technology companies.

Current members include companies in enterprise software, wireless, e-business, internet applications, instrumentation and bio-med. Benefits of being a TEN member include: business development assistance. TEN offers events that allow start-ups to gain visibility, and joint venture business opportunities. TEN offers events that coach start-ups on entrepreneur topics, and make introductions to service providers, advisors, and mentors. All advisors operate on a pro bono basis. Advisors are motivated by the chance to gain exposure to promising Silicon Valley businesses.

TEN offers office support. Members may rent furnished offices with janitorial service, conference rooms, meeting equipment (such as projector, VCR, overhead), telephone service, high speed internet access, wireless access, copier, facsimile machine. For entrepreneurs in semiconductor, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, there are also laboratories and clean rooms.
Membership fees operate on a month to month basis. Cash fees begin at around $200/month. Members may be required to donate equity, typically 1% of outstanding shares.
