Attorneys who have their own web sites might consider Google, Inc. (Google)’s AdSense as a way to monetize on their web site traffic. Google AdSense delivers text and image ads that are targeted to a web site and its contents.

The web site owner is able to obtain revenues from visitors who click on the ads. To safeguard the owner’s business standards, the owner is able to block ads from competitors, and choose default ads when Google is unable to serve targeted ads. Google reviews ads before they appear on web sites to ensure audience suitability, and filter inappropriate content.

To apply for the program, the web site owner, completes an online application, and agrees to Google’s program policies and terms of use. To prevent fraud, policies require publishers not to include incentives for users to click on ads, or use methods that artificially general clicks or impressions.

Case studies and news articles posted on Google’s site reported that some publishers have been able to generate several hundred to several thousand dollars a month from the program.
