The product allows for use by different types of users in an organization, such as finance, legal, procurement, product development, and facilities. The organization is able to monitor access by giving users different security control levels.
The product is able to act as a repository for executed agreements. When due diligence for government regulatory compliance, a possible merger or acquisition, or other research situations arise, the system allows for search by self created and tailored criteria. For instance, an organization may set up fields to track exclusive relationships, employment solicitation restrictions, and favored nation pricing contract provisions.
In the creation of templates, the product gives the user flexibility in reusing the same provisions in several templates. For instance, if a user has standard reseller, end user, and distributor agreements, the user may draft a provision such as a force majeure section, and plug the same language into all three templates without having to open and close the documents in word processing to revise each individually.
On April 10, 2006, Emptoris, Inc. (Emptoris), an enterprise supply management solutions provider and diCarta, announced the completion of their merger.
Emptoris announced Emptoris 6, a fully integrated solution for spend analysis, sourcing, contract management, compliance and supplier performance management. Emptoris 6 is a joint development between Emptoris and diCarta. It would be interesting to see how users respond to Emptoris 6 compared to the diCarta product prior to the merger.
