The American Corporate Counsel recently announced the Law Department Purchasing Consortium to help in-house counsel:
1. meet challenges of work, time and human capital in providing timely, high-quality, business practical advice and solutions to their corporate clients; and
2. demonstrate their value to the company and contribute to the corporate bottom line by minimizing legal risk and maximizing return on the department’s legal spend.
The Consortium’s mission is to act as a "trusted neutral" in forging an exclusive, invitation-only proprietary legal services marketplace where thought-leading in-house counsel, outside counsel and suppliers convene to identify and align divergent economic interests, build partnering relationships and collaborating to construct practical solutions for achieving business goals.
Law department buyers focus on purchasing the highest value legal services and products at reasonable prices; and law firms and suppliers deliver value at reasonable costs through efficiency and responsive, appropriate service. The Consortium offers a Roadmap and Implementation Plan, technology and other resources for improving operational efficiencies and deriving value from working relationships.
On 4/5/2006, 8:30 – 11:00 a.m., panel members will meet at the Sheraton Hotel/ Reception Room, 625 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA, Phone: (650) 328-2800, to introduce the Consortium.
