Today, US District Judge James R. Spencer heard oral arguments on NTP Inc. v. Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM). In this patent infringement case, NTP successfully argued that RIM, the maker of the BlackBerry wireless e-mail service, infringed on its patents and now the issue is whether NTP is entitled to a permanent injunction against RIM. According to this AP report, Judge Ends BlackBerry Hearing; No Decision, Judge Spencer ended the hearing without issuing a decision and apparently without giving a hint of how he might rule.
